La presente colección propone debatir temas del Uruguay que viene.

A 200 años del ciclo artiguista, el país está en plena construcción y es oportuno discutir el futuro que queremos y podemos.

Coordinada por Rodrigo Arocena y Gerardo Caetano, la propuesta reúne ensayos breves que exponen, desde distintas perspectivas y disciplinas, algunos de los principales asuntos de los que podríamos llamar la agenda del futuro del Uruguay. Se trata de una herramienta valiosa para el debate y la toma de decisiones. Los expertos más calificados en cada área fueron especialmente convocados para aportar una visión prospectiva del Uruguay real que tenemos entre manos.

Tomo I El País y el Mundo

A lo largo de su historia nuestro país ha estado obsesionado por el afuera del mundo y de la región. Uruguay parece perfilar una coyuntura favorable y a la vez exigente. ¿Cómo se puede disputar mejor una inserción internacional competitiva y menos vulnerable en un mundo tan imprevisible? Prestigiosos especialistas esgrimen las principales claves para este desafío.

El sentimiento de inseguridad, ¿qué consecuencias acarrea en la dinámica de los ciudadanos y cuán erosionada está la matriz social que los sustenta? ¿Cuáles son las fortalezas y debilidades del sistema judicial uruguayo?¿Qué rol jugará la diáspora en los próximos años y qué perspectivas se abren en relación con un nuevo escenario inmigratorio? ...

Tomo III La agenda del futuro

¿Cuáles son las claves para aspirar a un desarrollo genuino? ¿Es posible trazar un camino a nuestra medida? ¿Cuáles con los obstáculos que nosotros mismos nos ponemos? ¿Estamos en la senda del cambio cualitativo de la democracia política a la democracia social? ¿Cuál es el valor adjudicado a la cultura en un sentido amplio, como motor para la capacidad colectiva de imaginar y reflexionar? ¿Cómo incluso el deporte puede construir ciudadanía?... Quizás la aventura uruguaya esté llegando a un cruce de caminos. Uno de los desafíos centrales que el Uruguay tiene por delante es construir su propio derrotero hacia la sociedad del conocimiento. Se trata de innovar audazmente desde lo mejor de las tradiciones de este país de vocación democrática e igualitaria.

      pero se podra ir mas lejos en base a esa iniciativa ?
      los medios tecnicos actuales permitirian entablar intercambios a nivel internacional entre uruguayos, por ejemplo darse fechas de encuentro sobre temas de interes para los del "exterior"
